COLLECTIVE BARGAINING AGREEMENTS

As of July 1, 2021, some State employees are covered under Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBA), see the Division of Human Resource Management, Labor Relations Unit page for more information.  If you are in a job classification currently covered under a CBA, some of the terms and benefits of your employment may be different than the provisions outlined on this page. Please consult your CBA or agency's human resource for further information.

700-HOUR APPOINTMENT

The 700-hour program provides for temporary limited appointment of individuals with disabilities, not to exceed 700 hours.  An individual is placed on a 700-hour list if certified by a counselor in the Rehabilitation Division of the Department of Employment, Training & Rehabilitation and if he or she meets the minimum qualifications for a position.

A 700-hour appointment may be converted to a regular appointment before the end of the 700 hours, subject to a trial or probationary period.  If an employee is converted to a regular appointment, the employee's hours in the position as a 700-hour appointment are counted towards his or her completion of a trial  or probationary period.

700-HOUR LIST CERTIFIED

The hiring of an eligible 700-hour candidate is required unless it would create a conflict of interest. The individual must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation. If the list is not used, it must be documented and/or coded in NVAPPS prior to the issuance of another list. Once you have coded the list, please contact the Recruitment section for further assistance.
