COLLECTIVE BARGAINING AGREEMENTS

If you are in a job classification currently covered under a CBA, some of the terms and benefits of your employment may be different than the provisions outlined on this page. Please consult your CBA or agency's human resource for further information.
TRANSFER (VOLUNTARY & INVOLUNTARY)
A current employee who moves from one position to another in the same class or a related class within the same grade.
An employee who wishes to voluntarily transfer should make his or her interest known to a hiring agency.

INITIATED BY AGENCY (INVOLUNTARY)
An appointing authority may, after giving 5 working days notice, transfer an employee to another position in:
- The same class; or
- A comparable class with the Division of Human Resource Management's agreement.
Notice is not required if the transfer is for 10 days or less or in case of emergency (with the Division of Human Resource Management's agreement).
A permanent employee who refuses a transfer to a different geographical location has reemployment rights.
UNCLASSIFIED/NONCLASSIFIED POSITIONS
RESTRICTION
An employee may not noncompetitively transfer to underfill a position at grade 30 or higher if the position is at a higher grade than the position the employee currently holds.
TRIAL PERIOD
Permanent employees who voluntarily transfer within the same grade will be required to serve a new trial period, unless waived in writing by the appointing authority. ADDITIONAL RESOURCES
