ACCELERATED HIRING RATE
An accelerated hiring rate is appointing a new hire above step 1 of the grade for the position.
An accelerated hiring rate allows for adjusting the rate of pay for a position that may be filled on an open competitive basis in order to meet a difficult recruiting problem, employ a person with superior experience, or to maintain an equitable relationship among employees.
An accelerated hiring rate must be approved by the Division of Human Resource Management.
