VETERAN HIRING PREFERENCE

VETERAN RELATED PREFERENCES ARE APPLIED BY RECRUITERS.

Various categories of individuals are entitled to additional preference if proper documentation is provided establishing they meet certain criteria. Veteran related categories include: 
  • Veterans with a service connected disability (the highest preference)
  • Veterans
  • Widows or Widowers of a person killed in the line of duty while on active duty in the Armed Forces of the United States
  • Members of the Reserves or Nevada National Guard
  • Widows or Widowers of a Veteran
 
These preferences cannot be combined and individuals should be awarded the highest preference they qualify for.
