COLLECTIVE BARGAINING AGREEMENTS

As of July 1, 2021, some State employees are covered under Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBA), see the Division of Human Resource Management, Labor Relations Unit page for more information.  If you are in a job classification currently covered under a CBA, some of the terms and benefits of your employment may be different than the provisions outlined on this page. Please consult your CBA or agency's human resource for further information.

PROMOTION

A current employee advancing to a position in a class which has a higher grade than the class previously held after completing an initial probationary period.

COMPENSATION

If an employee moves one or two grades above his or her former grade, he or she is placed at the same step in the new grade.

If an employee moves three or more grades above his or her former grade, he or she is placed at whichever is higher:

  • A step which is equivalent to an increase of two steps above his or her former grade; or
  • The lowest step of the new grade.
