COLLECTIVE BARGAINING AGREEMENTS

As of July 1, 2021, some State employees are covered under Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBA), see the Division of Human Resource Management, Labor Relations Unit page for more information.  If you are in a job classification currently covered under a CBA, some of the terms and benefits of your employment may be different than the provisions outlined on this page. Please consult your CBA or agency's human resource for further information.

REAPPOINTMENT

When a current employee is appointed to a position in a formerly held class or comparable class, if he or she meets the current minimum qualifications of the position.

An employee who wishes to be reappointed should make his or her interest known to the hiring agency.

RESTRICTIONS

An employee may not be reappointed to underfill a position at grade 30 or higher if the position has a higher grade than the position the employee holds.  The grade of the class an employee is reappointed to may only exceed the grade of the class he or she formerly held or a comparable class if the former or comparable class has been reallocated to another grade or class.



TRIAL PERIOD

An employee who is reappointed to a class at a higher grade level must serve a trial period unless it is waived by the appointing authority.
