Please consult your CBA or agency's human resource for further information.


An appointment made if there is an urgent need to fill a position, a ranked hiring list has fewer than 5 eligible individuals and with the Division of Human Resource Management's approval.

A provisional appointment may not continue for longer than 30 days after a list of 5 or more ranks has been certified.  No one may receive more than one provisional appointment or serve more than 6 months in any 12-month period as a provisional appointee.
