Student Internship Opportunities


What is the Public Service Intern Program?

  • Created in 1997, the Public Service Intern Program provides internship opportunities which are mutually beneficial to students and the State of Nevada.

  • Students have the opportunity to gain meaningful, hands-on experience in a professional environment, build lasting professional connections, make a positive impact on their communities, and contribute their skills and energy to a State government agency.

  • Eligible students may apply for internships that are consistent with the student's academic major, area of interest, degree or career objectives, or service interest.

  • State agencies have the opportunity to design internship programs that align with their mission and objectives, offering students meaningful professional experience within a government setting.

      Who is eligible:

      • Undergraduate or Graduate Students with a minimum of a 2.5 GPA
      • Recent High School Graduates

        Where are the internships located?

        • Reno, Sparks, Carson City area
        • Las Vegas area

          When are the internships available?

          • Semester basis for credit (UNLV & UNR)
          • Variable for non-credit (UNR only)
          • Summer or other timeframes available
